Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 15, 2025
Get Bananas ("the App") is developed by 941 Apps. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Your list — item names, sections, and quantities never leave your devices and iCloud
- Advertising identifiers
- Any data shared with third parties
Anonymous App Diagnostics
To keep the App reliable, it sends us a small amount of anonymous diagnostic and usage data: crash and hang reports from Apple's MetricKit, and counts of feature use (for example, "an item was checked off"). These contain no identifiers and none of your content — no names, no account, no device fingerprint, and never your list: item names, sections, and quantities stay on your devices. We cannot link reports to you or your device, and we don't try. Reports carry only coarse facts: app version, OS version, device family (like "iPhone" or "Mac"), and country. They are processed on our own infrastructure (Cloudflare), used solely to fix crashes and improve the App, and are never shared or sold. You can turn this off any time in the App under Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Diagnostics; the switch takes effect immediately.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Shopping List Items: The items you add to your shopping list, including item names, quantities, sections, and checked status.
- App Preferences: Your chosen language and display settings.
- Crash Diagnostics: If the app crashes, diagnostic information is stored locally for up to 30 days to help improve app stability. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it.
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, the App can sync your shopping list across your Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch) using iCloud Drive.
- Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, protected by your Apple ID.
- We do not have access to your iCloud data.
- iCloud sync is controlled by your device settings and can be disabled at any time.
- Apple's iCloud privacy policy applies to data stored in iCloud.
Claude Desktop Integration (macOS)
The macOS version of Get Bananas includes an optional integration with Claude Desktop via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- This feature is entirely optional and must be manually installed.
- When enabled, Claude Desktop can read and modify your shopping list stored locally on your Mac.
- Your shopping list data may be sent to Anthropic's servers when you interact with Claude Desktop. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
- This integration does not affect the privacy of the iOS or watchOS versions of the app.
Third-Party Services
Get Bananas does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
Get Bananas does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
